Mystone Ardesia: Contemporary Style Interiors - 1

With its Mystone Ardesia stone-effect stoneware, Marazzi extends the stone-inspired Mystone collection with the tactile beauty of slate, one of the types of rock most widely used in architecture since time immemorial.

This sedimentary rock is famed for its fissile properties, meaning its ability to split easily along parallel planes, which has made it one of the most popular building stones throughout history. Also known in Italy as Lavagna Stone due to its geographical origin, it is a compact stone with a distinctive black colour, which turns pearl grey after quarrying on contact with oxygen, sun and moisture, due to the carbon compounds in its composition.

A real architectural classic, which Mystone_Ardesia reworks in contemporary style to offer architects the utmost design freedom. This is ensured by the three different colours – white, ash grey and anthracite – and he tile's intrinsic technical characteristics, meaning that the fine porcelain stoneware is of colorbody type, with a compact, uniform colour, and the tiles are rectified, providing perfectly straight edges with 90° angles, allowing installation with minimal joints.

Even more versatility comes from the two types of surface: the natural finish is smoother, while in the structured alternative the typical texture of the stone is more noticeable.

Other important characteristics are the large choice of sizes, herringbone mosaic, 3D mosaic and the version 20mm thick, ideal for outdoors (available in the rectified 50x100 size).

An absolutely contemporary collection, for a final effect that blends tradition and design.
